A fine dark green bean considered by many to be the perfect bean. It has an excellent flavour and a strong resistance to disease.
French beans dislike wind and cold and a sudden frost will kill them so grow in a warm and sunny sheltered spot and plant out in June. They grow best in a fertile soil with plenty of organic matter dug in, this should be neutral to slightly acidic with a pH of 5.5-7.
