Bamberger Long


Very Rare. Very Large, Longish & very white. They are rich, powerful and sweet… Famously named after the Bamberg region in Germany & used in the famous recipes for Bamberger Onion – (which are peeled and stuffed with special sauces). This is a very old pear-shaped cultivar, whose seed is produced only in Bamberg. In the 17th century, this region was the mainstay of most German cultivation of onions and garlic. Now mostly known for creation of “Bamberger onion recipe”
