Height 90-120cm (36-48″). Shiraz is quite simply an exquisite British bred variety, which boasts beautiful bi-coloured flowers. Produces high yields of flat, purple podded mangetout peas and is resistant to powdery mildew. The delicious pods can be eaten raw when young and look fantastic in salads. Can be steamed or stir fried but the colour will be lost. Can be container grown.
Peas do best in a rich soil that is neutral to slightly alkaline, with a pH of 6.5-7.
