Thick savoyed leaf, cupped shape, good flavour and colour. Bright vibrant red with glossy leaf blade and attractive frill.
Sow thinly in situ. Harvest the baby leaves when large enough to cut approximately 4-8 weeks later. Keep seedlings weed free and well-watered. When leaves are of an appetising size, use scissors to snip off a few from each plant at 2.5cm (1in) from the base. Avoid damaging the central growing point of the plant and allow the remaining leaves to grow on. Water regularly to help support the production of new leaves.
Sow 1cm (1/2″) deep
Thin out to 2-5cm (1-2″)
Allow 15cm (6″) between rows
Can be broadcast in containers.
